Muscles on the Road to Manhood

In preparation for the release of his sophomore album Manhood, Melbourne DJ Muscles  has dropped a new mixtape, aptly title Road to Manhood.

The 15 minute mix provides punters with a sneak peak of what they can expect when Manhood finally drops on June 15.

Muscles will also be hitting the road throughout June and July with his new live show, culminating in a final appearance at the sold out Splendour in the Grass.

If the Melbournian’s previous sets are anything to go by, you can expect the trademark Muscles blend of extravagant strobe lights and outrageous props.

For those of you who find that the mixtape isn’t enough to satiate your palette, you can peep Manhood’s lead single Ready for a Fight.

The album itself has been ambitiously touted as a “no holds barred, electronic post-punk, euro-dance, camp, masculine, pop album that balances itself in its extremity”, but we’ll have to wait until mid-July to see if the charismatic DJ can deliver.

Tour dates are as follows:

Sat 16 June – Survivor! at The Bottom’s End, Melbourne
Fri 22 June – Cobra Kai Club at Oh Hello!, Brisbane
Sat 23 June – Cargo Bar, Sydney
Fri 29 June – Ed Castle, Adelaide
Sat 7 July – Woodport Inn, Erina
Fri 20 July – Hotel New York, Launceston
Sat 21 July – The Waratah Hotel, Hobart
