Aloisi Snags Heart’s Top Job

2006 World Cup hero John Aloisi has been appointed head coach of Melbourne Heart after the departure of Dutchman John van’t Schip.

The announcement followed Van’t Schip’s departure from the Victorian side for a more lucrative contract at Guadalajara in Mexico.

Aloisi pipped Heart’s assistant manager Ante Milicic, who had been widely tipped to fill the position.

The former Socceroo signed a 3 year deal with the Heart after impressing as the club’s National Youth League coach last season.
