Man Still Missing After Boating Accident

A man is still missing after a boating accident in the spencer gulf last night, whilst another suffered severe burns to his body.

The pair’s boat was found partly submerged 10 kilometres off course and damaged by fire, believed to be caused by an exploding engine.

Alan Adam and his son, Tony, were reported missing by their families at 9 pm last night when they failed to return from their fishing trip by nightfall.

Tony, who was found by rescuers this morning clinging to a lifebuoy 100 metres from the boat, said his father had tried to swim back to shore to get help.

At first light today an aerial and sea rescue team were deployed.

Tony adams is currently recovering in the royal adelaide hospital with burns to 40% of his body.
